Blu Har

$up,
I dyed my hair blue yesterday. It didn't exactly come out the way I wanted it to, but I actually really like it. I am excited to see how it fades. This outfit was thrown together really quickly, and I am not really certain if I 100% love the way it looks. These shorts were my favorite in high school, I got them at Iguana in Hollywood. When I first got them they were just average jean shorts, and I wore them to death, the back of them is ridiculously ripped (you can see my whole butt..). I think its kind of funny though. I really didn't want to throw them away because I still loved them a lot, so I gave them a second life by painting ying yangs on them, and studding the front of them. They are still a work in progress though, I need to figure out what to do with the back. The top is a reworked vintage piece that I will be selling on my etsy store in the next couple days. I love the 90s fuzzy collar, its ridiculous. The shoes are my favorite heels that I got at Sun Thrift, I think they are so fun. The glasses I got at Giant Vintage Sunglasses. I got two glasses from there, and one of them completely fell apart after wearing them only once. The quality of their glasses are cheap like their prices, but they have a really wonderful selection of glasses from different time periods.

On a musical note: I love Shlohmo, and really everyone in the friends of friends label. Everyone from that label is actually playing The Boiler room tonight (I wish I could go!). This is a remix by Yours Truly of one of Shlohmos songs "Places."

Jersey Girl

$up,
Summer time is such a drag right now. It's really hot and boring. I am really not into it. All my friends are working so I don't really have much to do during the day time. It would be nice to have a full time job, but my move date is approaching quickly, so getting a job wouldn't really be easy/worth my time. Some days are really good and I feel super productive but then there are others where I feel like a slug that just lays around. I really can't wait to leave. This outfit is inspired by the new sporty fashion trend. Jerseys are kind of cool, I kind of wanted one that is a little bit longer so it could look like a dress, but sometimes oversized things don't look that great on me. I got this jersey at Sun Thrift, It is another thing that I will be selling on my etsy site in the upcoming weeks, so I will keep you posted about that. The skirt is my moms, I stole all her black skirts because its something that my closet is really lacking (I should really get my own). I decided to wear my gold chain, because I think it completed the outfit. I love wearing beanies, but this time I kind of took a different approach to wearing it. Usually I wear it with the bottom folded up, but I saw this on a Nastygal look with a model wearing a UNIF jersey and I liked it, so I tried it. My shoes are UNIF, and I am still obsessed with them. My purse was actually an old lunch box that I had had when I was young, and I turned it into a purse but adding a strap to it. I really like wearing it.

On a musical note: Michael Jackson died 4 years ago on the 25th of June. I know that was a couple days ago, but I want to honor it still by posting some Michael Jackson:

Goth kidz

$up,
Last night I did some goth stuff. My friends and I went to my dads club Perversion because it was the last weekly night (from now on it will be once a month.). It was pretty fun actually because everyone got super into it. Even my brother and I got dressed up.

This is Gino and Dylan (love these guys). They were dressed super fashionably. If you like industrial/goth music Perversion is a great club for you to go to, there is also Bar Sinister in Hollywood. That one is super cool because they have gogo dancers and they have like fetish demonstrations. Personally I don't really like to see the demonstrations, but if your into that kind of stuff it can be a pretty cool place to go. The building that perversion is in has a really cool underground warehouse vibe. Its located at 333 Boylston st. in downtown LA. So even though it isn't a weekly club anymore it will be coming up in the next month, and I suggest you go if your in the LA area, its pretty fun even if you aren't a hardcore goth kid.

On a Musical Note: This song is kind of old, but I really love it a lot. Its Robert Smith from The Cure singing with beats from Crystal Castles. <3 <3 <3

Overall

$up,
Firstly I would like to say that I am so happy that the Same Sex Marriage ban has been lifted in California! I thought it was really stupid to put a band on same sex marriage to begin with, marriage is about love not gender. I really hate politics and I don't really like hearing about them or talking about them, but I really felt like this particular issue needed some exposure on my blog. When the same sex marriage ban was lifted on Wednesday my Facebook dashboard was crazy with people posting their own personal opinions about gay marriage. A lot of people were really overjoyed and some were really upset, and they were putting up status that made me feel really uncomfortable about how they thought gay marriage was wrong. I think I don't like politics because it can drastically change how I feel about someone, if they don't believe in something I feel so strongly about. I feel like I cant really relate to them anymore. I guess thats the wrong way to look at it, but thats just how I feel.

Well anyway, 2 nights ago I really couldn't sleep. I was up all night thinking about clothing, websites, photography, art, how to make my business more successful and how to properly market myself. As you can see I got a domain name (www.Flourshur.com), so my blog is more of a website now. I was approached about a week ago to write for this up and coming website under the blog portion, and I get to write about music festivals and the fashion there. I got the great idea of doing that with my blog but instead of writing about the big music festivals I can write about the small ones that I like to go to and take pictures of outfits that I like. Hopefully I can bring in my camera, because film is getting a little bit to expensive for me. I also decided to get business cards to promote me and my blog a little bit better. With these cards I can promote my blog to people that I take pictures of at shows that I go to. I have a vintage store on Etsy called Bleached Vintage. It used to get kind of a lot of business, but lately I haven't sold anything. When I couldn't sleep I was thinking of how to improve the sales so I decided to do a lookbook (which I am shooting today with 3 very pretty girls) and add some new colorful fun stuff. I think I am just going to change the direction that the store is going in. I am really excited about these changes. The last one is I am going to sell clothing at the Rose Bowl Flea market next month! I hope to see you there!

Lastly lets talk about this outfit. So yesterday I went to Sun Thrift to get some new clothing to sell for my etsy store, these are two of the things that I bought. The Shop Till You Drop overalls were capris so I cut them into shorts and rolled them up a little bit. Because of the bright color the bottom of the legs were stained with dirt. The top is one of those 90s tops that shrinks when you take it off, I don't really know the official name of them, but I think of it as an accordion top. I wore my creepers because they look good with everything. My hair is kind of a bed head, I can kind of put my hair in a pony tail now, because its getting kind of long (compared to what it was). When I took it out of a pony tail, it looked like this. I thought it was super cute so I just went with it. This outfit made me feel super cute and really 90s, I love love love it. This outfit will be on my Etsy store pretty soon, so I'll keep ya posted!

On a musical note: I haven't really been downloading any new music for a while, which is kind of strange. I used to live for new music haha. So this is from my musical archives. No Doubt is always great.

Electric Daisy Carnival

Alright so, as you read in my last post, I was on my way to EDC in vegas. The drive up was boring and long, I drove separately with my brother, because the people we were staying with had a full car, I didn't really mind to much. I kind of really enjoy long drives, because we can stop on the side of the road when we are in the middle of nowhere and take some pretty cool pictures, and we can get candy at truck stops. I am all about candy on road trips (Or really just any time, I'm obsessed with sweets.) When we got to Vegas, we got to drive through the strip, because we stayed in Downtown Vegas at El Cortez Hotel and Casino. The strip is really pretty, but overly crowded, I think its actually fun to go to the strip just to look around and stuff but I knew we wouldn't do much of that this trip. When we got to the hotel we had this sketchy operation because the room was only booked for 4 people and we had 6, so my brother and I had to sneak in every time, it was kind of dumb. The first night we just kicked it at the hotel, and some of the people went exploring. I went to sleep cause I'm lame. The next day we woke up late, got subway and then got ready and went to EDC.

I wore this bra that I made out of felt squares and elastic, and I had glued on googlie eyes. It was inspired by a One Teaspoon top that I had seen on all the big name websites. I really loved that top, but it was way to expensive, so I did my own rendition. I also wore my high waisted bathing suit bottoms that I got from American Apparel. I had to wear fishnets because I got hives the previous day from material that I was sewing, super wack if you ask me. I also got to wear my Unif Cross Trainer highs. The ground was so fucking rocky that I kept falling all the way into the concert so I looked like a drunk bitch. I herd some people making fun of me behind me, and it was super obvious but I really couldn't do anything about it because I definitely looked the part of a drunk girl who can't walk. When we got in there, I was surprised how much it had changed since the last time I went (2011). The stages were moved around and further apart, which was good because I remember last time I went there was horrible sound bleed in certain spots of the festival. We went to several different stages and to me, it was cool, but I just wasn't really into EDM or dubstep anymore, so I wasn't having the best of time.

The second day I went later then the first day, with my friends Nick and Kyla. Everyone except for Nick and Zane decided to do a blood thing. My brother and I both had blood dripping from the outside of our eyes and our friend Elliott had it dripping from the inner corner of his eye. Kyla went all out with the blood and had it dripping from her neck and two drips from her stomach. I actually didn't have anything to wear for one of the days, so Kyla let me borrow her tights, boots and her sisters top. I am wearing my own bathing suit bottoms and my own necklace, but thats just about it. That night we mainly stayed at the bass pod stage, we met up with Kyla's sister Rachel and her friends. It was pretty nice to see all of them. I left early that night with my brother and we lost the car and were wondering around looking for it for 2 hours, it was really not fun...

The last day was my favorite outfit. This is the reason why I got hives, because I was working this bandanas and I guess I am allergic to them. Stupid, but whatever I washed it and I think it's fine now. So I made this leotard out of bandanas and it was super small and tight but I loved the way it looked. I wanted to go for a white out look with black lipstick, but I had to wear tights again.. I wore my Unif shoes again, but that day I was a lot better at walking with them. only fell 2 times because of the fucking rocks. I felt like the fishnets kind of made me look like a hooker, but looking at the pictures if I wasn't wearing fishnets, there would be way to much booty. I got to wear my beanie and I was super stoked because it's always a good day when I get to wear my beanie. The last day, I didn't stay to long, because I was super tired and hungry and the only food option they have for vegetarians was really gross pizza. The pizza I actually had to have every night, it was pretty gross. You'd think they would have better food options since the hours are 7pm-5am and it always goes to like 6am.

I couldn't sneak in my camera so I couldn't capture the glory of the horrible outfits people were wearing, but I can just tell you what I think was going through their mind. "Oh I found neon tennis shoes, I will also wear them with highlighter boxer briefs and then I'll paint a mask that says EDC on it, so I can look ravey and original..." Not so original... "Oh I found this day glow lingerie set, Let me put a matching tutu over it.. I'll totes stand out!" Okay no. Just no. I know in all these pictures I really look goth with my lack of colors and all, but I just hate everything day glow. Back when I was super into raving, day glow was not that big.. I mean certain people wore day glow, but it wasn't as annoying. I miss the plur kids that dressed like cute little ravers, with their hello kitty underwear, fuzzy bras, and kandi, loads and loads of it. I appreciate the rave scene I really do, but wow its really annoying now. I feel like before it was people going because they loved the music and they loved rolling and they just loved the good vibes that raves brought. Now there are still people like that, but there are even more people that just go to be there because its EDC, its about wearing as little clothing as you can get away with and doing as many drugs as your body can handle, the music barley fits into it anymore. Having said that there were a lot of outfits that I really did enjoy. I saw so many people going over the top with their outfits, I saw this one guy that only wore a glittery penis thong, this one guy that was actually dressed like a penis, I saw sailor moon, I say this girl dressed as a unicorn, I saw this super punk guy that had really spiky hair, and I saw a bunch of people wearing sparkly jumpsuits. I think the Rave fashion that I enjoy the most is the over the top fashion, the people who are not afraid to be different or crazy or weird. That is the kind of stuff that I really love to see at these events.
